National Service Scheme (NSS)

 

National Service Scheme (NSS) of Government of India is operated by Savltrtbal Phule Pune University, Pune. The overall aim of national service scheme as envisaged earlier Is to give an extension dimension to the higher education system and orient the student youth to community service while they are studying in an educational institution.

Different activities carried out during the camp are as follows

  • Village survey & History Writing
  • Gram Swachhata Abhiyan
  • Yuva Jagar Abhiyan
  • Yog Shibir
  • Save Girl Child Abhiyan
  • Water Percolation by CCT
  • Tree plantation

Lectures on different topics like Personality Development, Rural development, HIV/AIDS prevention, Mahila sabalikaran etc from experts are arranged. Health checkup program for primary school students in village is also arranged. As part of regular activity, our NSS volunteers arranged Blood Donation Camp, campus cleaning, temple cleaning & painting. Indrayani river cleaning etc. NSS program provides a variety of learning experience which must develop a sense of participation, service and achievement among the students. As per University of Pune norms NSS volunteers get additional 10 marks after one year regular activity (120 hours) & one special camp program. After completion of two years regular activities (240 hours} & one special camp. Student get NSS Certiļ¬cate from University of Pune.
